How Important Is Your FICA Credit Score?
FICA credit scores are very important when one wishes to apply for a certain type of loan or credit. This score is generally used by most lenders in determining one’s eligibility of being awarded of a loan or financing that he is applying for. Through this score, lenders will be able to know if the applicant of a loan or credit is worthy of what he is applying for. The FICA credit score is usually based on information provided from three leading credit agencies, Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.
Most major banks and commercial lenders consider this credit score in determining how much must be given to one who is applying for a loan. The score is also a factor in determining the interest rate that you will be charged for your loan or credits. Therefore, the higher your FICA credit score is, the better are your chances of acquiring a loan.
The scale that is used in this credit score is between 850 and 300, the average of which is 678. If your score is above the average, you are most likely to obtain a credit or loan without having any problems at all with your lenders. However, a credit score below the average could mean a risk on your application for the desired loan or credit. You could either get a loan but the lender may charge you with higher interest rates, or be denied of your application of the certain loan.
Considering all these, it is necessary to be always aware of your credit score. To avoid low credit scores, you must pay all your credits and loans on time. Late payments will always be reported and could, therefore, affect your credit score. It is also best that you do not over extend yourself with your credit, and pay more than the minimum. As long as you pay attention to your credit history, your FICA credit score will always remain at a positive portion.
